Snubby Awards: 1976 Results/1975 Nominations

Sorry we missed last week; I had tickets to see Guided by Voices that night, and the site was down for a stretch so I couldn’t post early. But we’re back to talk about a terrific stretch for movies, 1975 and 1976! First, here are your 1976 Snubby winners:

Best Snubbed Picture: Carrie
Best Snubbed Director: Martin Scorsese, Taxi Driver
Best Snubbed Actress: Tatum O’Neal, The Bad News Bears
Best Snubbed Actor: Robert Redford, All the President’s Men
Best Snubbed Supporting Actress: Amy Irving, Carrie
Best Snubbed Supporting Actor: Robert Duvall, Network
Best Stuntwork: Rocky
Best Voicework: (no award)
Best Cast: Network

1975 was another stellar year for movies, but as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest dominated, winning the top four awards, there was plenty of films left behind. Going forward, I’m going to include Golden Globe winners automatically, and leave the rest up to all of you. You can suggest any film or performance from 1975 not nominated for an Oscar, and upvote as many as you think are deserving. Top 5 vote-getters will be nominated; next week we’ll vote on the nominees, and the winners will receive a gold statue of Spike Lee.
