Jeopardy! recap for Wed., Apr. 25 – Here are today’s contestants:
– Krishna, a sales analyst from Seattle, WA, who realizes that when it comes to pizza devotion, “some of us get tattoos, some of us don’t”;
– Jen, a travel marketer from North Bergen, NJ, who as a child annoyed the Rolling Stones; and
– Randy, a fragrance specialist from Houston, TX, who, as his introduction suggests, sells perfume. Randy is a one-day champ with winnings of $20,000.
Unimpressive contest in which Krishna tailed off in DJ to finish far in the red at -$4,200, leaving the FJ battle to Randy with $7,600 and Jen at $7,400.
DD1 – ON THE BIG MONEY – We’d take a couple of $1,000 bills from 1928 featuring this President, even if they were in nonconsecutive order (Krishna lost $3,600 on a true DD.)
DD2 (video) – PLANET EARTH – Striations are the scratches these large masses leave behind as they travel over thousands of years (Krishna won $2,000)
DD3 – BALL – One chapter of this tome includes “The Ball at Count Benningsen’s” and “Alexander’s Letter to Napoleon” (Randy lost $1,600)
FJ – GEOGRAPHY – In 1871 the official addition of this as a province gave Canada coasts on both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans
Jen bet everything except $20 on FJ, which unnecessarily put her in position to lose if both players missed, but it worked out when she was right and Randy was incorrect. Jen added $7,380 to win with $14,780.
Triple Stumper of the day: Plenty to choose from, but I’ll go with the players not guessing the “bovine shot” potent potable made with beef broth is a bullshot.
Get the hint? dept.: For a clue looking for a certain relative, adding “if he really is Dutch” didn’t lead the players to uncle.
That’s before our time: Sadly, no one knew the legendary singer of “Ain’t That A Shame” and “Blueberry Hill” was Fats Domino.
DD1 – Who was Cleveland?
DD2 – What are glaciers?
DD3 – What is “War and Peace”? (Randy said he “never read it”, but he might have figured it out from the clue if he had taken his time.)
FJ – What is British Columbia?
