Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Apr. 2 – Introducing today’s contestants:

– Daniel, a newspaper reporter from Indianapolis, IN, who wrote about the popular, social media savvy First Dog of Indiana ;
– Elizabeth, a communications and marketing manager from Lansing, MI, who braved the cold as a domestic exchange student; and
– Emily, a nanny from Birmingham, MI , who collects elephants, mostly with raised trunks. Emily is a three-day champ with winnings of $45,001.

Emily opened the show by running a Reese Witherspoon category, then fell back to third as her opponents hit all of the DDs. But appropriately, Emily nailed the last two clues in the elephants category to regain first place into FJ with $16,200 vs. $15,200 for Elizabeth and $12,800 for Daniel.

FJ (video)- U.S. GOVERNMENT – The portrait here hangs in the building of this cabinet department & depicts a man who once ran it (shown was a portrait of Robert F. Kennedy)

Daniel chose to give up his chance at a possible Triple Stumper win by betting everything, but the gamble paid off this time, as he was the only player correct on FJ, winning with $25,600.

Triple Stumpers of the day: In a category about threes, no one knew that a touchdown of aircraft on two main wheels and tail wheel simultaneously is a “three-point landing”. Also, fans of Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show might have known the frequent guest who debunks the paranormal, The “Amazing” Randi.

Correct Qs:

DD2 – What are Sooners?
DD3 – Who was Sadat?
FJ – What is the Department of Justice?
