Uwe Boll, who may or may not be the evil brother of Tommy Wiseau, is back in the spotlight again in what we at least assume isn’t a botched up April Fool’s Day joke. The “filmmaker” isn’t ranting about not being able to get Postal 2 this time, though, and is instead…threatening legal action against a major holiday studio for soiling the name of his beloved Rampage franchise.
Now, if you’re like others, you’re probably going “Wait, Uwe Boll made Rampage movies?” But do a quick Google search and you’ll find out he somehow made three of them, none of which having to do with any giant creatures, but according to IMDB center around “a frustrated young man who dons body armor and kills several random strangers.” Worried that Dwayne Johnson teaming up with a giant gorilla might disrupt the sweet cash cow of a film series that sounds like the wet dream of a serial killer (the other movies in his series are called Capital Punishment and President Down), Uwe Boll is saying he’s willing to sue Warner Bros. over their own upcoming Rampage movie, claiming that they are “using ideas from his films in order to make even more money.” In his “statement,” Boll also used his typically civil use of conversation, incorporating the word “retard” into his discussion while also blaming The Avengers for getting Donald Trump elected president. You can read everything he had to say below…
“We are living now in a world where Independent Movies are dead and the big players only are making all the money. That they then use developed brands and ideas from established series such as my Rampage films in order to make even more money is unfair but typical. The new RAMPAGE movie will shrink my brand and my revenues I can make in the future with my RAMPAGE movies. It also confuses the audience! I want that WARNERS change the title, especially because the new movie has nothing to do with a RAMPAGE and looks more like Jumanji 2 and is one of those typical feelgood, popcorn bullshit movies that the studios use to brainwash America even more! All these kind of movies including Transformers, Avengers are helping the military industrial complex in America to win and have retards like Trump be American President who would say that the earth is flat as soon they think they can benefit from this!”
Rampage–which may end up being re-titled Curious George now–is set for release on April 13th, probably without any scenes involving the film’s hero setting capital hill on fire, because Hollywood is wussy like that.
