The Thursday Politics Thread Chooses Personal Chemistry Over Traditional Qualifications

Shulkin is out!

In the latest game of Trump Administration Apprentice, the beleaguered, corrupt VA secretary was tossed out by President Stable Genius using his preferred method, Twitter. His replacement is everyone’s favorite “doctor” (well no, not the one that looks like Brent Spiner in Independence Day) is Rear Admiral Dr. Ronny Jackson. A man President Good Brain calls “The Doc” like he’s a character on a fucking TV show or something, he was chosen for his personal chemistry and his loyalty to the President. Jackson, known for his bizarrely effusive praise of the President’s health, is by all accounts well-liked in this, and in previous administrations. Good for him! Doesn’t mean he’s qualified to run the second largest bureaucracy.

Meanwhile!

The Mueller investigation revealed that Rick Gates (and Manafort, presumably), were aware that a Russian associate of theirs was former member of the Russian intelligence service with current contacts to the organization. These communications were relevant to the 2016 campaign. This man is presumed to be Konstantin Kiliminik, he of the bizarre op-ed that Manafort tried to draft and send to western papers about five hundred years ago.

There’s the deputy campaign manager and probably the Trump campaign manager knowingly in contact with Russian intelligence. There’s everything else that’s been done and said in regards to this. Are we done? Can they go away now?
