Weekly Japanese Pop Culture Thread (March 28th, 2018)

Sword Gai: The Animation, the fourth and final series* in Netflix’s March anime deluge, premiered last week, and by all appearances, it’s a shitshow. It might be good for a laugh (or future Rabbiting), though.

So instead let’s talk about what you’re looking forward to in the upcoming spring anime season. Personally, it’s looking a little light for me. There’s a good chance I’ll check out the new Lupin III series, and I’ll probably watch Sword Art Online Alternative, because I hate myself, but other than that, I think spring will be a good time to catch up on stuff I missed this season and last year. How about you folks? What are you planning on checking out?

*Lost Song premieres on March 31st, but only in Japan, and it’s a weekly series. No Western release date has been announced yet, but since it’s a Netflix exclusive, I expect the release time frame will be less like Kakegurui and more like Violet Evergarden.
