Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Mar. 26 – Please welcome today’s contestants:

– Vicki, a compliance technician from Denver, CO, who met Harrison Ford at a sneak preview for Blade Runner; and
– Tristan, a non-profit associate director from Washington, D.C, who won a varsity letter in high school for quiz bowl.

Tristan had the right idea by going all-in on both DDs in DJ, but it just didn’t work out for him as he missed both, winding up at $0 and out of FJ. So it was just two players taking on Final, Johnny with a runaway at $14,000 and Vicki with $2,800.

DD1 – SOUNDS LIKE MEAT – A citizen of a town, whether it’s Calais or not (Johnny won $3,800 on a true DD.)

DD2 – AMERICAN POLITICAL HISTORY – In 1999 the Senate voted 50-50 on the charge that Bill Clinton obstructed justice, this many votes shy of a conviction (Tristan lost $6,200 on a true DD.)

DD3 (video) – O NO! – Drop an “O” from the word represented on the left (10 to the hundredth power) to get the person on the right (Tristan lost $2,800 on a true DD.)

FJ (video) – MEDIEVAL LITERATURE – The illustration seen here appeared in the second printed edition of this book, published in England in 1483 (shown is a drawing of many people in medieval garb sitting at a large round dinner table)

Johnny figured out FJ in the last moments, crossing out his first response and writing the correct one as time expired. But it paid off only in pride, as he bet $0 to stay at $14,000.

One more thing: Note that if the response to the clue about the Ralph Ellison novel had added “The” to “Invisible Man”, it would have been incorrect, as that’s the title for a different book so wouldn’t fall under the show’s relaxed rules for articles.
