Jeopardy! recap for Thur., Mar. 22

Jeopardy! recap for Thur., Mar. 22 – Today’s contestants are:

– Lynn, a journalism professor from Lafayette, CO, who stated “my mother was pregnant when she was on the show with Art Fleming” (that is, pregnant with Lynn, not Art Fleming);
– Natasha, an innovation specialist from Sunnyside, NY, grew up with 13 birds but will admit to no favorites; and
– Rebecca, a language specialist from State College, PA, who, guided by television, changed career ambitions more often than Jethro Bodine. Rebecca is a one-day champ with winnings of $14,407.

Very tight three-way battle that saw Natasha miss DDs on back-to-back clues and Lynn drop back to third with a mistake on the last clue of DJ. Going into FJ it was Rebecca on top with $13,200 vs. $9,000 for Natasha and $8,800 for Lynn.

DD1 – ON THE BOARD GAME – Start Career, Pay Day (Rebecca won $1,600 on a true DD.)

DD2 – VERY POSSESSIVE – According to Boyle’s Law, this in gas increases whenever the volume of its container decreases (Natasha lost $1,600)

DD3 – FORESTS – The Cedars of God area in this country contains remnants of an extensive ancient forest (Natasha lost $1,000)

FJ – WORLD GEOGRAPHY – The Greek islands of Lesbos & Rhodes are each about 10 miles from the mainland of this other country

Lynn was correct on FJ, making a smart move and playing for the Triple Stumper win with a $0 wager (although betting $201 to pass a potential $0 bet by Natasha would have been even better). When it was revealed that Rebecca and Natasha missed, Lynn took the victory with $8,800.

Triple Stumpers of the day: A clue’s reference to a “Belfast bluesman” didn’t lead the players to Van Morrison, and they also missed the British company that issued car policies starting in 1904, Lloyds of London.

Correct Qs:

DD1 – What is The Game of Life?
DD2 – What is pressure?
DD3 – What is Lebanon?
FJ – What is Turkey?
