If you were a teenager during the early 2000’s, you were probably at least aware of Kim Possible, Disney Channel’s animated adventure comedy show about a teenage girl who saved the world on a daily basis, which was easy for her compared to dealing with social life and dating. The series was bright, colorful and a ton of fun, and a reasonable success for the Mouse House, so much so that a live-action movie was announced years ago which never amounted to anything…until now.
Variety is reporting that Disney Channel is currently developing a Kim Possible film for television, which sadly means that it probably won’t be the big-budget actioner some fans have daydreamed about for ages. It’s also most likely a sign that Disney won’t be pursuing a rumored reboot for the series, at least for the time being. Still, any Kim is better than no Kim at all, and it will be interesting to see what direction they go in for the film.

Presumably, the new film will include Kim’s buddy/sidekick/boyfriend Ron Stoppable, her computer genius ally Wade, and Ron’s hideous yet cute naked mole rat Rufus (Do you still know the words to “The Naked Mole Rap”? Son of a sitch, you probably do). But the real question is which villains will be involved, with Sheego and Dr. Draken being the most likely candidates, even if I personally am crossing my fingers for Señor Senior Sr.
The Kim Possible movie is currently without a premiere date.
