According to his The Princess Bride co-star Cary Elwes, while growing up in France, Andre the Giant, né Roussimoff, was driven to school on occasion by his neighbor, Samuel Beckett, the acclaimed Irish novelist and playwright.

By all accounts, Mr. the Giant was a lovely person, and this is his Day Thread.
