Hey there Avocados, Happy (almost) New Year!

I know it’s usually just an occasion to party and collect kisses at midnight, but maybe you have some specific New year’s eve traditions, especially involving food or a particular drink? New Year’s Day  usually has much more of a food-centric theme. Here’s a list from CNN Travel that has some cool things and some things that seem kind of every day.  I’ll be playing a free NYE show and we’ve instigated a “Band Potluck” theme for the show, it just so happens that we procured 6 dozen tamales (no, we didn’t make them. Never tried it before so I don’t want to use a crowd of partiers as my guinea pigs and Chicago has plenty of places to get top notch tamales) so I guess we’re representing Mexico.

Another friend used to have a New Year’s Day party with tortilla soup as the centerpiece, I’ll probably stay home and eat leftovers.
