The top 16 upvote-getters will be entered in the tournament.

Rules:

1. No solo artists. This means that any band where someone’s name gets top billing (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band) is disqualified. If the lead name is a pseudonym (Siouxsie and the Banshees), it’s acceptable.

2. Only the band’s work from 1980-1989 will be considered, even if they put out significant music in another decade.
