Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Nov. 20

Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Nov. 20 – As the show returned to regular play, Eric opened DJ strongly in an anatomy category to go from last to a solid lead, which he expanded with a correct response to DD2.

Champ Kara found DD3 in position to regain first place, put didn’t wager enough to get there, so she entered FJ in a close second with $15,700 vs. $16,800 for Eric and $5,200 for Alex.

DD1 – TECH CRUNCH – In 2013 this .com had the youngest CEO in the Fortune 500 when it debuted on the list at 482 (Kara won $500)

DD2 – COLORING BOOKS – A quote from this 19th century novel: “Woman, it is thy badge of shame!” (Eric won $3,000)

DD3 – THE PERSIAN PAST – One story says the Persians diverted the Euphrates to help them take this great city in 539 B.C. (Kara won $2,000 while having $14,100 to wager and trailing by $3,900)

FJ – FAMOUS NAMES – She declared, “By blood, I am Albanian… As to my calling, I belong to the world”

Everyone was correct on this very easy FJ, with the close scores leading to a big payoff for Eric, who added $14,700 to win with $31,500. Not only did Kara’s too-small DD3 wager cost her the game, she bet too much on FJ, opening herself to possibly be passed by Alex if Kara had missed.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew the prison that famously held Rudolf Hess as its only inmate was Spandau.

Correct Qs: DD1 – What is Facebook? DD2 – What is “The Scarlet Letter”? DD3 – What is Babylon? FJ – Who was Mother Teresa?
