6 of 9 was having a hard time adjusting to their new crew. Although the former Borg was a dedicated worker, socializing with their peers came harder. So it came as a shock – or at least a strange happenstance – that they would be invited to the local tavern that night. Normally 6 of 9 would decline, instead choosing to burn the midnight oil on spreadsheets and graphs, but they’d been lectured SO many times about trying to “bond” with other people. Pfft, humans.
Nonetheless, 6 of 9 went along, and found the experience… tolerable. The tavern was loud, but the alcohol’s bodily effects had their charms. Or, was it the alcohol? 6 of 9 realized they hadn’t felt this way in a while. Connected to something greater than their singular form. They were finally part of a greater plan.
“We really didn’t think you’d come along, but I think you’ll make a fine member of our team!”
6 of 9 almost found themself smiling! Almost. But that feeling was short lived.
“YAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” screamed another figure as they ran towards 6 of 9 with a broken bottle! Even 6 of 9’s training in Klingon Karate wasn’t enough to save them from the blow.
“You fool, what did you do?!” said the figure, but it was too late. 6 of 9 had perished.
