Werewolves XXVI: Coercion – DAY 1

Life in Avocado Town has become a high stakes game of blackjack and the Cabal now holds all the cards. They know everything. They see everything. They kill without ever having to lift a finger. Never bet against the house goes the old wisdom. Evil has let itself inside the house. True evil has come to Avocado Town and it now makes itself at home on your sofa. Blending into the furniture. Taking the shape of hapless citizens just like you. Will you resist the cabal when the time comes or will you be made into an accomplice?

This is Werewolves XXVI: Coercion

– The game is split up into 2 teams. Town (Citizens) and Mafia (the Cabal)
– All players will be grouped into pairs
– Citizens don’t know who each other are and need to find out while voting to execute one player at the end of each day phase
– Citizens don’t know who they’re paired with
– The Cabal, on the other hand, knows who each other are and share a group QT
– The Cabal knows all the pairings in the game
– During each night phase, the Cabal selects a player and coerces them into killing another player of his/her choice from a kill-list
– If the selected player refuses to act, their partner is nightkilled instead
– The kill-list is made up of players who received a vote at any point during the previous day phase (includes players who had all votes against them retracted; excludes the player who got the most votes and was lynched at the end of the day phase)
– If the kill-list as defined above has less than 3 players in it, the list is expanded to include all players
– The Cabal will try and trick you into voting for your fellow Citizen as they know who each other are
– It’s a game of survival and debate at its core, where your beliefs can make you suspicious or help lead you to victory

You are a Citizen (Vanilla Town)

Win Conditions:

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

– You have no abilities, your strength is your vote and intellect.
– You will be able to send a note each night to the player you are paired with. You cannot identify yourself in this note or quote anything directly from the day thread.

– The kill-list is made up of players who received a vote at any point during the previous day phase (includes players who had all votes against them retracted; excludes the player who got the most votes and was lynched at the end of the day phase)
– Once per night the Abductor may target a player to be protected, this will protect them and their partner from one kill for one night and prevent any of their night actions.
– If the Abductor happens to target the player they’re paired with, they will not be jailkept along with them.
– Each night the Whistleblower may target a player to be investigated. If the player or the player they’re paired with is Cabal, they will receive a result of [Cabal]. If neither is Cabal or if they’re blocked or jailkept, they receive nothing.
– Each night, the Whistleblower will be able to intercept an exchange between two paired players.
– The Cabal cannot coerce each other.
– The Cabal cannot coerce the same player two nights in a row.
– None of the special roles can target the same player two nights in a row.
– If a player’s partner is dead already and they opt to do nothing when the Cabal coerces them, no one dies that night aside from the Fugitive’s target.

Please make at least 3 posts per game-day (36 hours) or you will be replaced.

Rather, read through and think very well about your comment before posting it. Editing a post may get you modkilled and end up hurting your team and the game overall.

A typical day will end after 24 hours unless a majority vote is reached before that. A typical night will end after 12 hours unless all night actions are received before that.

Please ask me any questions you may have in your personal QT. Also, never quote directly from your QT. It is however perfectly alright to quote stuff from this thread in your QT.

Attack arguments, not people. Everyone has a different play-style. Be accommodating to them.

Day 1 ends at 10:00AM CT Tuesday or if a majority vote is reached first.
