Werewolf XX: WOLF COPS 2 – The Wolfening (DAY TWO)

People often talk of magical realism when querying events of an otherworldly nature occurring alongside the mundane and the unremarkable beats of everyday life. Here in Avocado Town, folks just call it realism.

In the weeks since Det. MacCrocodile vanished and left everyone feeling guilty and afraid for their lives, rookie detective Jake volunteered to investigate the teas as a way to take her mind off things. Why were there so many? Who brought in all these teas? And why was the coffee so terrible? Inspector Marinero wouldn’t claim responsibility but as Scotland Yard’s man in the precinct, he was the top suspect.

After much back and forth between the other officers, it was decided that the only way for him to prove his innocence was through a drunken game of russian roulette between himself and Det. Jake in one of the interrogation rooms.

Officer Mello ran out to get bourbon from his desk while Det. Flaxon officiated. She took a long drag from her cigarette and grinned liked the devil as she placed a revolver on the table between Marinero and Jake.

“Now, I want you both to remember why we’re doing this,” she instructed the two. “First, it’s tea. Next thing you know, people start bringing in egg-white omelettes for breakfast. Not in my precinct!”

Officer Felixir looked on, puzzled and embarrassed at his fellow officers. “All this over delicious and refreshing tea?”

“Shut up, Rookie,” they all shot back.

Officer Mello returned bearing a comically large bottle of bourbon. All the officers were now in the interrogation room.

“Who’s watching the front desk?” the police chief asked worriedly. Her officers mumbled and looked quizzically at each other but no one said a word. Finally Det. Creeper spoke up.

“Silly me– forgot I bumped into Mac on the way here… says he’ll watch the front.”

The room fell silent and it took a few seconds for Creeper to register the shock on everyone’s faces at what he’d just said.

“He’s using from my stash again,” Flaxon said finally, seething at Creeper. “I say we put him out right now.” She began to reach for her piece.

“Not now, Flaxon,” the chief yelled before inching closer to Creeper and placing her hands on his shoulders. “Detective, I want you to look at me and say again who you think is watching the front desk.”

“MacCrocodile,” Creeper replied. “He usually stops by at night to chat while I’m in here doing… stuff.”

The chief ordered everyone out of the room and together they stormed into the main office to find MacCrocodile whistling to himself at his old desk. His back was turned to them so they couldn’t be sure it was him.

As Officer Shini approached him to get a good look at his face, a gunshot was heard coming from the interrogation. They all rushed back to find Marinero where they’d left him – now dead from a bullet between his eyes. The killer had been careful to make it look self-inflicted but the officers weren’t fooled.

The police chief sighed and shook her head. “At least now we’ll know whether or not it was him bringing all these teas.”

MacCrocodile is around still. But why? And is he really MacCrocodile? And whose side is he even on?

The game at its core is split up into 2 teams. Town (vanilla cops) and werewolves (wolf cops). Vanilla cops don’t know who each other are and need to find out while killing the wolf cops killing them off (or recruiting them). Wolf cops try and trick you into voting for your fellow vanilla cops as they know who each other are.

You vote by replying to the very first comment which I have titled VOTE THREAD. It is easy to find if you sort comments to oldest. To change you vote, simply post another reply. DO NOT EDIT YOUR INITIAL VOTE.

Each day/night, all vanilla cops submit a name in their QT belonging to someone they’d like to investigate. Only one randomly selected cop each night will have the name confirmed as good/bad/maybe. If a name is submitted by more than two cops, no results on that name are returned.

Two Vanilla cops are also partnered (Masons already confirmed town to each other) and will be able to communicate daily in a squad car (Mason QT).

Three Vanilla cops are also UC Operatives (Level One) and will be working separately in effort to infiltrate the new WOLF COP SYNDICATE. Their mission during the day is to do everything in their power to bait the Wolf Cops into taking one of them in as a Wolf Cop Recruit. The first one of them who is recruited will be promoted to Undercover Operative (Level Two). The remaining two will then be decomissioned and continue their day jobs as vanilla cops.

Once per night, the Internal Affairs agent (Jail Keeper) may target an officer to be protected (“bringing them in for questioning”). This will protect them from one kill or recruitment for one night and will also block whatever night-action they attempt (this includes vanilla cop investigations).

On one night of their choosing, the FBI Specialist (1-Shot Vigilante) may attempt to nightkill one officer they suspect is either a Wolf Cop or the Mafia Mole.

Once per night, the Mafia Mole (Serial Killer) may target an officer, thus killing them. The Mafia Mole is also now immune to night-kills

The Tree Stump has no vote or investigation and won’t be counted as Vanilla Cop or Wolf Cop. They are also immune to night-kills.

Each night, the Wolf cops may either use a factional nightkill or recruit an officer to join their ranks. As long as the 3-Shot Wolf Cop Recruiter is still alive and hasn’t used up all their shots, it can only either be one or the other each night. In addition to that, the Wolf Cop Roleblocker can target a player each night, blocking whatever night-action they attempt (this includes vanilla cop investigations).

The default QT looks like this:

You are a Vanilla Cop.
During the day, your strength is your vote and intellect. Use it wisely.
At night, you may submit the name of a player you’d like to investigate in an attempt to discover their true nature.
However, only one Vanilla Cop by random selection each night will have the name they submit confirmed as either [good], [maybe], or [bad].
If you are selected to have the name you submit confirmed but two other Vanilla Cops or more submitted the same name, you will return a [no result].
If you are selected to have the name you submit confirmed but you did not submit one, you will return nothing.
All names must be submitted in this fashion: <<name>>.
You win if all threats to the department are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Please make at least 3 posts per game-day (36 hours) or you will be replaced.

Editing a post may get you modkilled and end up hurting your team and the game overall.

A typical day will end after 36 hours unless a majority vote is reached before that. A typical night will end after 24 hours unless all night actions are received before that.
