It is 180 AD. An evening of gladiator warfare and celebration is planned for all of Rome to enjoy. At the heart of the excitement sits Felix Festus, a lanista looking to win the public favor – and in doing so, a Senate seat – with the donation of his gladiators for exhibition. While no lives will be taken in the ring; honor, pride and the grand champion title are all at stake in the exhibition. Although lives will be spared in the arena, the same will not hold true at the festivities.
One Roman will take their last breath at the party and it will be up to all of the survivors to search out the guilty from the guileful. A conspiracy is afoot and all of those attending Felix’s dinner party are under threat until all of the murderers are apprehended. Happy hunting!

Following the gladiatorial fights, the party laid down for a sumptuous, elaborate dinner, with Felix Festus at the head of the table and his wife Fabiola at his right hand side. There was great joy, with many conversations across the table at hand, even Justice Ruler starting to let down his guard and enjoy himself. And lo, tragedy has struck! Marcus and Cecilia Augustus’ son Cicero begins to thrash about, his soup pouring out of his mouth. He has been poisoned with hemlock. By the order of Iovita, constable of Rome, the building’s doors shall be shut and locked tight until the perpetrators are apprehended.

I will be flexible with regards to your language, its modernity versus RP-appropriateness, as long as everyone remains committed to role-playing and remaining firmly in character throughout. The psychology and motivations of your characters take greater priority over approximation of period language.
