*Almost.
Happy Vernal Equinox everyone in the Northern Hemisphere! Astronomical Spring is here at last.
I would like to utilise this jovial mood to promote one of my favourite podcasts and hopefully bring more ears to it – Every Sci-Fi Film Ever! created in 2024 by Ayesha Khan, it was the winner of the 2025 Ear Worthy Award for best movie podcast and has been reviewing (almost) every science fiction film ever, obviously. It’s a very interesting and illuminating show, impeccably researched and helps understand the context of the time and culture each film was made in. Experts and media historians are invited on to give further insights and oftentimes I have been entertained by discovering movies I haven’t heard of before.
The most recent episode delved into Mario Bava’s Planet of the Vampires, one of the key “inspirations” for Alien (inspiration in the sense that Dan O’Bannon flatly ripped off a large part of the story wholesale). Please check out an episode or two if it sounds up your alley!

Episodes can be found on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts and also in video form on YouTube:
The next episode will be a special detour to discuss the origins of Star Trek, which I believe has some fans on this website.
Take care of yourselves everyone, I hope the sun shines on you wherever you are!
