The Perfect Strangers theme song came up on the OT a few weeks ago and I mentioned that I had trouble remembering which yellow-font-over-a-Midwestern-city-with-a-soft-rock-banger-playing-in-the-background went with which classic TGIF sitcom.1 So I sought out the YouTube video I knew would exist compiling them all, and now you lucky kids get to watch it too.
In chronological order: Mr. Belvedere, Perfect Strangers, Full House, Just the Ten of Us, Family Matters, Step by Step, Going Places2, Dinosaurs3, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper, Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
That Perfect Strangers one really is the best though.
That’s the most complete compilation I could find in a single video after ::checks notes:: three minutes of searching, but it’s missing a few TGIF shows, the most glaring omission of which to me is Baby Talk, the show that dared to ask that if George Clooney turns into Scott Baio between seasons will anyone notice?4
Anyhoo, apparently a bunch of these songs were written by one fellow, named Jesse Frederick. Thanks, pal, these were fun.
Happy Day Threading!
