Hello! Welcome to COTL, a discussion place for BIPOC. Posted the first 3 Wednesdays of the month
Thread Rules
- We ask that only those who identify as people of color participate in this discussion. White Avocados, while valued members of this community, should remain in ‘lurk’ mode.
- Shaming and hateful speech are unacceptable.
- Please keep potentially traumatic content safely behind spoiler tags.
- Nobody on this thread is more or less a person of color than anyone else. (We will not set clearly delineated boundaries on who qualifies as a ‘person of color.’ As a starting point, this thread uses the definition of ‘non-European heritage of sufficient prominence to affect one’s navigation of a society built on white normativity.’ However, we recognize that there are identities which skirt either side of the divide. If people feel that they meaningfully experience the identity of being a person of color, then they are welcome to participate.)
Sorry for forgetting last weeks thread.
As one can probably tell from the header image, I kind of missed an important day in the Asian lunar calendar. Especially as the day fell around the 17th (d’oh).

Also happens to be Ramadan!
Hoping for those who celebrate, you have a good Iftar & Suhur. 🙏🏾
FREE PALESTINE 🙏🏽!
Speaking of Free Palestine… fuck the BBC!
A sorry situation given the next topic.
It continues to be Black history month in the US.
I wanted to highlight how civil rights have pushed everones rights 🙏🏾
How African American workers (& others in every other part of society – here’s looking at the trans woc queens who pushed for my own rights) have been at the forefront of pushing rights1.
It’s come to my attention that the BAFTA incident might require a Sanity Check & the comment section is the place for people to say their piece, without having to feel like needing to defend oneself.
Hope everyone’s doing okay 🙏🏽.
