Elsewhere: Present Day, Present Time!

Walking from 1958 by Charles Henry Alston. One of my favourite paintings from the 50s, Alston depicts a crowd of people marching to and from places in boycott of the segregated bus system of Montgomery. In addition to being a reminder of the power everyday people have I love how the use of Red on the borders frames everyone who’s wearing blues and teals in the center.
