Moviacados! “Man has always loved their buildings, but what if those buildings… fall”. It has been too long since I made a Simpson’s reference and this seems as good a time as any, and stay with me, I am building to something here…. Like buildings the best movies can be traced back to the best solid foundations. Once you have a solid foundation for your building/movie the design and look of it is very important and once the building/movie is built up you can now fill it with awesome people, music, and things so that you have an enjoyable place that people like going to AND possibly revisiting often.

After the vehicle prompt from a few weeks ago I started thinking about other things in movies that are iconic, and buildings popped right out. I mean you can have Bond villain lairs in volcanos… or not Bond villains for that matter, a very diverse cast of villains choose volcanic lairs. Or perhaps some form of Space Station/Moonbase is more your speed, with lots of space age design and decor. We could look at modern buildings that have a cool design, or maybe lots of really neat features, like caves full of bats or just really cool features. Perhaps you are an old soul at heart and what you really enjoy is a nice drafty castle, like all the different ones featured in Monty Python and the Holy Grail… Hey Wait a minute… And finally maybe it is just the look that makes the building for you, like pure style that just jives with your taste. Bases, towers, caves, treehouses, there is a ton to choose from and that is a part of what makes movies so much fun.

Either way way it is getting close to bed time so I ask: What is your favourite movie building/facility? Remembering that I am fairly loose in interpretations means you can have some real fun with this one.
