Changeables toys are coming back to McDonald’s! In fact, you can apparently get them starting today! Of course, they’re sadly probably going to be a lot more cheaply made than the OGs. And I’m not just saying that because I’m a bitter millennial fueled by nostalgia (well, I am, but that’s beside the point). Happy Meal toys used to be made with high quality, dammit! We used to be a proper country.

Anyway, if you’re not in the know, “Changeables” were essentially knock-offs of Transformers, except they were McDonald’s food products which turned into robots. And just like Transformers, they went through multiple versions over the years (including dinosaurs, which were arguably even cooler than the original line, but let’s save that for another header). These were classics, man. Changeables you could believe in! Although, in the UK, they were called “McRobots” for whatever reason, which is what they are referred to in this commercial with some amazingly great animation. They were truly owning the fact that they were a Transformers clone here. It’s amazing Optimus Prime never sued.
