Dad’s Casa S6E22 – Beth Becomes A Woman/Discovers She’s A Witch

Beth Becomes A Woman/Discovers She’s A Witch” is the 22nd episode of the 6th Season of the USAmerican television situation comedy Dad’s Casa.

“Dad, I just had my first period and I think I’m a witch.” “…Well, your mother and your Aunt Sue can help you with one or both of those but since they’re not here, how can I help?” “A hug and some ice cream” “That I can do.” They hug and Dad goes to get ice cream.  “You know, summer vacation is coming up, I can ask your Aunt-“*ring ring* Dad answers the phone. “I was just thinking that the twins are growing up and maybe one or both of them would like to spend part of the summer with me.” Dad turns to Beth: “It’s Aunt Sue, she’d love if you spent a few weeks with her this summer.” They laugh. Once Beth is settled and after they ate supper, Beth says to her aunt: “Aunt Sue, I wanted to tell you this as soon as I saw you but it wasn’t the right time…When I got my period, I had a vision or an epiphany or something. I suddenly remembered Dad telling us the story of when he was buying the Casa and he thought he saw a ghost and I thought ‘Oh, Dad is the ghost but Dad from the future but it hasn’t happened yet.’ ” “That could very well be, my dear. We’ll talk about this more later. Just call me Sue. Right now, it’d be best if you relaxed and had an early night.” “Yes Aunt Sue, I mean Sue.” There’s a montage of Beth and Aunt Sue, separately and jointly, collecting firewood, making charocal, working in the smithy, gardening, cooking, going on long walks, collecting herbs and identifying plants, sitting outside during a full moon, meditating, reading philosophical, psychological, historical science, social science, poetic, mythological, and religious texts.  “Oh, everything is magic,” Beth exclaims, one evening, while sipping tea on the balcony. Aunt Sue nods and sips her tea. Beth goes home. At the Casa, Beth gives out presents: Freshly grown mint for Anne, fresh lavender for Mom, cookies for Junior, and a little metal racoon for Dad – “Ahh…witch!-uh sorry Beth”. Beth learns that she wasn’t the only one to have an eventful 2 weeks: Dad lost a war against racoons and Anne got a job at Blockbuster. End card: “To be continued…” Anne and Dad’s stories are told in the next episode.
