The Friday Politics Thread Has Some New Year’s Leftovers

For a lot of folks in the American South, it’s traditional to have black-eyed peas, cabbage, and ham (or other greens/other pork, but it’s cabbage and ham in the QHarp family) on New Year’s Day in order to attract health, wealth, and love in the new year. I currently have all three residing in my fridge; since current technology makes it impossible to send food through the internet (do something useful, Sam Altman, God), I will share with you the best I can:

The choreography in this video is delightful. I’m a sucker for when videos don’t cut and just have dancers moving on- and off-camera.
This one is actually PT-relevant! ‘Pleonexia’ is avarice and ‘the insatiable desire to have what rightfully belongs to others‘ which… I feel like that alone is enough, but this song is specifically about gun manufacturers. Also, ‘Nihilistic Glamour Shots’ is both an amazing name for an album and a huge mood. Also also, I feel like it is in the PT’s interest that I point out they also have a song called ‘Uber Capitalist Death Trade’ and it is very catchy (seriously).
I had backup options that weren’t as good in case I couldn’t find a band named ‘Ham’ but I did and they’re Icelandic sludge metal and they kind of fucking own?

Happy New Year, ‘cados. Let’s resolve this year to be even more nice to each other, more nice to the mods, and less threatening to Mayor McSquirrel. One more also for the road: I’ve been listening to that full HAM concert as I finish this and I think I’m obsessed.
