Doing anything for NYE? Searching around it looks like finger foods and hors d’oeuvres are popular. We’re not planning anything but I think the pimento cheese gougères in the header image is a thing that needs to get made in our kitchen. Tonight we’re having the kids over and combining Christmas and New Year’s into one. It’s going to be fish tacos with home made tortillas. Mostly going with this Serious Eats recipe (Kenji’s one of the more trustworthy voices on the internet). I’ve got a nice Pacific cod filet and it’s about time to change the oil in the deep fryer so in goes the fish!
