Happy Monday, folks, and welcome to the Weekly Video Games Thread—my second to last one in 2025. I’m writing this fairly late at night, and I shouldn’t make substantial articles when I am writing fairly late at night. Not super smart. But I love doing music prompts (and I decided that the super-short header I had mostly written can be delayed for two weeks). They’re some of my favorite, and judging by responses, it seems like people are generally more into answering them than, I dunno, what’s your favorite ? Block in Pipe Land?

Well, initially it was “music from games that gets you pumped.” And I spent about thirty-eight minutes just listing a metric ton of games before deciding that it was just not fun. It was too broad. So I threw all that work out! Instead, I decided to take inspiration from the header image I picked and decided to go with some of my favorite racing songs from games. Just some. And why shouldn’t I? Sure, I barely play racing games, but two of my most played games of the year were Mario Kart World and Kirby Air Riders. So, here you go: what are your favorite racing songs? Sonic Crossworlds, the other big racing game, isn’t included as I didn’t play it or listen to the music. Other racing games aren’t because again, I’m starting this list at 10:46 PM.
