Movieacados! So here I am one day post birthday and I am stuck sitting at work on a super boring overtime shift not having a prompt done up yet. I haven’t cracked what I wanted until I started doing nothing (and it was everything I thought it could be). Yes I am wasting one of my two precious days off per week, but on the flip side I am now being somewhat productive thanks to this impromptu call-in.

When you think of workplaces in movies you would usually start in an office, then maybe think about construction sites, farms, maybe police and fire stations, workin in a coal mine is even a possiblity. But then you can expand those thoughts to many movies. Santa’s workshop is technically a workplace, and the crew from Alien was out on a mining job in their workplace/mining ship. Workplace movies are all around us whether we notice or not and they can fill many voids in our daily life. We can live vicariously through people who quit their jobs, or find inspiration with the little guy who stands up for himself to “the Boss”. We can laugh at the zany antics that definitely do not happen in real work places, i’ve been at my job for almost 15 years and not once has anyone ever broken out in song.

So, all that being said it makes this weeks prompt rather easy: What is your favourite workplace based movie? I am expecting the majority of responses to be comedy based as that genre lends itself more easily to workplace settings, but also have come to expect that I will be surprised by many answers nonetheless.
