My birthday will be drawing to a close when this header goes up. Tonight, a favorite song, one of (what I assume is) a very small number about relativity and time dilation. That’s what you get when you have an astrophysicist as your guitar player, I guess.

The studio version of the song is one of the rare Queen songs with lead vocals from Brian May; Freddie Mercury sang lead when they performed it live. There are a lot of great covers of the song, including George Michael and Brandi Carlile. Sadly, my favorite cover doesn’t seem to be anywhere online (or at least not that will embed here); Ingram Hill’s version from 2005’s “Killer Queen” tribute album had harmonies even better than the original.

Appropriately enough, I am now 39. The past year has been rough; I don’t have a job and my mental health has been…poor, to be blunt. But I’m still here and still trying, and The Avocado helps.
