I’ve had a tab open for days with a series of articles that have been running in The Advocate (local paper) about the “lethal heat” that’s been rising in Louisiana in recent years, largely unremarked beyond the usual, “Boy, it’s a hot one, huh?” and, “Wow, I can’t believe it’s still in the 90s in October!” But heat deaths are rising, and it’s definitely not swamp business as swamp usual down here. I was going to shamelessly crib most of today’s PT header from those articles.

However, this PT is late because I was too delightfully cozy in bed on this cool autumn morning to get up and write it (plus I closed the tab by accident). It finally feels like fall here, and I can’t bring myself to write about depressing climate stuff. I’m going to sit on my front porch to eat a bagel and do the crossword and hope that no one needs to video call me at work for at least an hour.
