Welcome to The Avocado’s weekly discussion of Japanese pop culture! Right now Betsucomi is celebrating their 55th anniversary with a really cool exhibit in Tokyo. In addition to special merch, original drawings, huge displays of manga panels, the exhibit includes an immersive video experience that showcases various scenes from some of their most famous publications, including of my favorite manga of all time, Basara. I saw a video of some of the Basara scenes…and it’s just too cool and beautiful for this world. 😭 I want to see it so bad!
