Werewolfs 241: Born to Wolf – Track 2 – Tenth Avenue Wolf-Out

From a tenement window a transistor blasts
Turn around the corner things got real quiet real fast
‘Cause everyone had fled in terror from the werewolf attack last night

Summer, Belmar, NJ, at the intersection of E Street and Tenth Avenue. Bad Scooter strolls around town searching, as always, for his groove.

Unfortunately, he finds instead the remains of a suave-looking FBI agent in a trenchcoat gripping a flip phone scrolled to the name “Scully” in the contacts list. The agent also seems to be wearing a mask. Scooter pulls it off to reveal famed werewolf vigilante Mary from the song Thunder Road.

“A dead FBI agent/werewolf-hunter?” asks Bad Scooter. “What could it mean?”

At that moment, a man with a saxophone turns the corner, and takes a good look at the scene. “Kid you better get the picture,” he says. “You know what we’ve walked into.”

Bad Scooter pales. “A Tenth-Avenue Freeze-Out.”

Big Man nods solemnly. “Whatever that is,” he says.

Blip has surrendered to the runaway American dream. He was a Broken Hero On A Last Chance Power Drive, specifically, Mary (Town One-shot Vig).

Welcome to Day 2! Twilight will be at Friday, August 22 at 9pm New Jersey time.1 (Note that all write-ups are for flavor and may or may not reflect actual events).

Factions

TOWN

  • 4 TRAMPS LIKE US (Vanilla Town)
  • 6 5 BROKEN HEROES ON A LAST-CHANCE POWER DRIVE (Roled Town)
    • Bad Scooter Bad Scooter’s searching for his groove, and along the way he sometimes finds out if people are town or scum. He can pick one person each night to find out if they have groove (town) or no groove (scum). (Town Investigator)
    • Big Man – Everything gets better when the change is made uptown and the Big Man joins your band. Each night the Big Man chooses a player and joins their band, making that person immune to wolf kills. Can target self, cannot target same person twice in a row. (Town Doctor)
    • Mary Mary has one last chance to make it real, to trade in these wings on killing a werewolf. Go get ’em, Mary. (Town One-shot Vig)
    • The Magic Rat – Shares a chat with The Barefoot Girl. If one dies, both die. The two may choose one night during the game to drive The Rat’s slick machine over the Jersey state line, making them immune to all night actions. (Town Lover & One-shot Commuter)
    • The Barefoot Girl – Shares a chat with The Magic Rat. If one dies, both die. The two may choose one night during the game to drive The Rat’s slick machine over the Jersey state line, making them immune to all night actions. (Town Lover & One-shot Commuter)
    • Terry – Tries in vain to breathe the fire we was born in. No special powers. Disappears into the Soft Infested Summer if given a postcard of the Jersey shore, gaining the ability to send postcards as well. (Potential Independent Recruit)

RUNAWAY AMERICAN DREAMS (WOLFS)

  • This TownBaby this town rips the bones from your back. Yikes! Nobody but nobody is getting out while they’re young on your watch. Each night you assign a wolf (can be yourself) to name one player who will surrender to the runaway American dream (=die). Cannot choose the same wolf two nights in a row, unless there is only wolf left. (Head Wolf)
  • The ManYou get to work late and the boss man’s givin’ you hell. Give ‘em hell! Mandatory overtime! No fun tonight! Each night you choose a player whose role will be blocked for the night. Cannot target same player twice in a row. (Wolf Roleblocker/First Backup Head Wolf)
  • A Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out – No one really knows what you are or what you do, but from context clues you seem… bad? (Vanilla Wolf/Second Backup Head Wolf)
  • Eye-Ghosts of All the Boys Mary Sent AwayThey haunt this dusty beach road in the skeleton frames of burned-out Chevrolets. Honestly, you probably should have just moved on, eye-ghosts. But now it’s too late and you’ve collectively transmorgified into a werewolf somehow. (Vanilla Wolf)

ONE SOFT INFESTED SUMMER (INDEPENDENT)

One Soft Infested Summer – You are the general miasma of heat, humidity, and post-
‘60s America that lingers over everybody out on the run tonight. Each night you choose a player to be sent a vintage postcard of the Jersey shore. If the player you have chosen is Terry, then they are recruited to your team, join you in a chat, and also hand out postcards beginning that night. You (and Terry if recruited) win exclusively and immediately if/when all living players have a Jersey Shore postcard (you do not need to have one yourself). You (and/or Terry) do not need to be alive to win. You do not need to recruit Terry to win individually.

Rules

Players are not allowed to edit comments or directly quote from private chats without permission from the mod.

Ties are RNGed.

Wolfs win when they equal or outnumber Town. Town wins when all scum are dead. Independent(s) win when the meet the condition described above.

All living players must vote for autokill (>50% of living players) to take effect.

Order of Operations I Think
Commuting > Roleblocking > Investigating > Postcards > Vig Shot = Wolf Kill > Healing

Please be respectful to all players. Attack arguments, not people. This is just a game, and we’re all here to have a good time.
