The Night Thread, Crazy? No Way!

Uncle Duck is a “cartoon” from The Noog Network, a children’s online “channel” where you could play games to unlock various animated comedy sketches. Except…that wasn’t really its purpose. The real point of The Noog Network was to work as a launching board for several pilots that Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman was trying to get off the ground. Most of these “episodes” mainly consisted of characters introducing the concept of the show, and then abruptly ending. And they all were all very short. Like…less than a minute short.

Why, then, has Uncle Duck stood the test of time and emerged as the internet’s latest unstoppable meme? Basically, it all started when one Twitter user reposted the cartoon in response to the news of Hartman getting a new animation studio to make new faith-based (aka “crappy”) content. The tweet went viral, and the rest is, as they say, internet history. Uncle Duck took off as ironic entertainment despite running only 40 seconds. That’s…kind of impressive.

And Uncle Duck, like last year’s Mortimer Mouse meme, is absolutely impossible to kill. Who cares if it feels like a fake cartoon that Peter Griffin came up with? Uncle Duck don’t care! Uncle Duck is going to live forever! Uncle Duck has inspired so many CRAZY memes on YouTube that I couldn’t possibly share even a fraction of them without getting myself banned from writing headers here (quit applauding). So are a just a handful of them, which range from the funny, to the deranged, to the frankly bizarre. Just like Uncle Duck himself.

Have a CRAZY night, y’all!
