My header series on relaxing video game music that I love listening to continues with Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. Ender Lilies is a 2021 Metroidvania noted for its beautiful visuals, difficult boss fights, and – most relevant right now – lovely soundtrack composed by Japanese indie group Mili.

Just how lovely is the soundtrack? Bloom (Outro) is the theme for the second phase of perhaps the toughest boss fight in the game, and it is…a thoughtful piano ballad.

The humming throughout Harmonious does a great job of capturing the feeling of melancholy that pervades the game

The Witch’s Thicket has such a sense of whimsy, it was an immediate standout for me.
