Sorry for the delay!
Welcome to the 30 Day challenge of November which is going to be all about Role Playing Games of all shapes and sizes, whether produced in Japan or USA, tactical or real-time and more.
Today we’re talking choice paralysis, regret, or sticking with what works as we talk RPG character builds and classes. This can range from swapping between whether your avatar is a thief or a healer with the press of a button, sticking with a big hammer wielding tank all the way, as well as graduallybuilding the the “class” yourself through countless itty bitty choices.
And so, the main prompt of the day is: Do you have any favorite character classes/builds you keep defaulting to? And any general least favorites? Do you even like engaging with class/build management yourself, or prefer RPG characters to have pre-set classes?
Bonus prompt: What RPGss have the generally best/worst ways of managing Class/Build systems?
New Prompt Plus: How easy should class switching/build remodeling be, if you even need this feature at all?
Optional Postgame prompt: Any classes/builds that really appeal to you, but never seem to work out – whether due to being poorly optimized, or having too high a skill floor?
Secret ludicrious superboss prompt: Whats the longest you’ve spent fussing over builds/classes in an RPG? Have you ever had to restart a whole RPG just to do-over a build?
Buff Yuna ludonarrative dissonance prompt: Most memorable cases of choosing builds/roles that run totally counter to the way a character is written?
