The episode begins with BMO spying on some bugs breaking/break dancing (go join them BMO I’m sure you’ll make fast friends 🤗. Edit: Oh. Apparently they’re your homeboys 😅).

AAAARGH! A bloody big bird bagged BMO from atop of the house. Nooooooo!
oh fuck me. This is a nightmare. You guys suck for recommending me this episode 😱… Hehe, I’m just kidding 😅.
I thought the bird was being silly feeding a mechanical construct to her chicklings. BMO will get out of there. Right?
LMAO the big momma bird pushing BMO down the chick’s gullet & BMO just sort of not fighting it on the last try. BMO is smart & will wait it out. Oops spoke to soon aa BMO is startled & falls down a mountain side: cracking their face! 🤦🏾♀️ When will the horrors end.
Wut! A bubble wants to wallow with a despairing BMO. Man this episode is turning into a vibe especially after the horror show of the week before last.

Bubble has a very familiar voice (LEVAR BURTON! YEAH BOI!).
Oof, “giving up” on things is a definite vibe, especially after the UN’s report2 & then the US election probably setting a terrible new trend.

BMO gets a handsome baby? Lol, BMO gets a family?
The travelling found-family comes to a narrow bridge & realising Ricky the baby needs to get across, BMO being very supportive & loving (“you are so handsome &… I love you.”) sends Ricky across, but to no avail.
Jesus this episode is too funny though: BMO shouting out “BRAVERY” as an affirmation leaps after Ricky (who did what a baby would do & crawled right off the rickety bridge). BMO realising the precariousness of the situation & shouting out “OH NOOOO” falls down the gorge 😂.

BMO will be fine. It’s fine…
Bubble incredibly saves the day (as BMO & Ricky head towards a dangerous waterfall) by practically starting a domino effect with a leaf (I feel like there’s a saying here)? BMO however has wet batteries 3 & drops dead 😰.
BMO leans the hardships of parenthood as Ricky struggle should do anything when threatened by a “Carnivore” & the others are able to hide. “Luckily” it just turns out to be Ricky’s real mum (well done Bubble for calling out the correct baby name). Unfortunately BMO can’t let go. Poor BMO. Fade to black. Sad BMO. I’m sad to. I miss hope 🥲. Bubble gives BMO hope & support over “Ricky/Sparkles” future (“sexy hitman” huh? 👀
BMO gets excited over Bubbles finding BMO’s “homeboys” 🤭, as it means BMO is close to home. Some audio pratfalls occur as Jake & Finn argue over answering the knock at the door when BMO & bubbles gets there. Outside Bubbles and BMO have a heart to heart. Bubbles & BMO get MARRIED!?
Oh my globs… Jake bursts that bubble 😱. The guys get really awful about BMO’s loss. Which to be fair could in fact be all a part of BMO’s vivid imagination. Although a living sentient bubble seems no more unlikely than a sentient games console?
The episode takes a more metaphysical & philosophical bent as it turns out bubbles has survived by turning into air. Which actually tracks since I used to teach primary school kids about bubbles (man they LOVED bubbles) & that they’re just pockets of air trapped inside a thin layer of liquid. Bubbles has evolved/joined all air?
Becoming very creepy?

I must say there’s a always been a question of age in my mind for BMO* so the marriage thing felt a little off & then the ending just cemented a rather disturbing point of wildly inappropriate relationships? Though I guess BMO’s yay really undercuts the horror, as well as being a well placed joke.
*Slightly spoilered reading up on BMO’s age and I’m surprised!

Sorry to disappoint but I don’t have too much to say about this episode. It’s a classic Ice King does silly things episode and is very funny. There are a few things worth noting real quick tho:
the first thing
This episode (as pointed out in the comments below) has a connection with season 4’s BMO Noire (also reviewed by Stars!), in which BMO is on the hard boiled case of Finn’s missing sock. And also Jake puts makeup on his face. In this episode we hear Finn complain about his missing sock as a b-story and that’s pretty much the extent of it. There’s no great payoff about it or anything but it’s a neat little detail. There’s also another episode callback with the Squirrel from The Duke making a return to cap the episode

New princess alert! Bounce House Princess makes her debut here– not at all offended if others partake in a bounce or two.
the third thing
Ice King is just great this episode. I hope Tom Kenny had a lot of fun talking to himself because that’s pretty much most the episode. It kind of feels like Ice King even made some progress at this point in the series run– some of the characters have warmed up to him and PB even sent an invitation to the potluck to him. Maybe that’s being a little generous but the Land of Ooo at least seems to tolerate him a lot more. Ice King is less about kidnapping princesses and is more about just wanting to hang out with his tur-bros.
I mean just look at how hard he is trying:
If I did not suck this week then I would write more. Butt I know why you’re all here– let’s get our freak nasty on with some gifs!
