(We will not set clearly delineated boundaries on who qualifies as a ‘person of color.’ As a starting point, this thread uses the definition of ‘non-European heritage of sufficient prominence to affect one’s navigation of a society built on white normativity.’ However, we recognize that there are identities which skirt either side of the divide. If people feel that they meaningfully experience the identity of being a person of color, then they are welcome to participate.)

I’ve been feeling pretty mixed lately & now I’ve missed the time to post this at the usual time. Boy am I not altogether there lately 🙃. Mostly very depressed yesterday by news coming out of the West Bank:
Other stuff going on (oh the Grenfell report is out today… that should make for light reading) & it can all get a bit much…
Thankfully the Paralympics are going on:
I created the thread to support & boost visibility and representation, but also just to enjoy the fantastic games & drama. I do enjoy a big sporting event.
It’s not lost on me that they can be very white male dominated sports (Kadeena Cox literally on record for wanting to “represent for those who aren’t”), though I feel the women have been getting more attention this games, than previous games? There’s been a bigger push for diversity & inclusion. Even if the something like the “new” UK Labour government is backtracking with cuts in the pipelines & the Scottish government is already decreasing support to Disability charities 🤦🏾♀️.
