So my original plan for this Day Thread was to feature some interesting facts about the number 46, as I am officially 46 years old today. However, it turns out the number 46 is incredibly boring! For real, this is one of Wikipedia’s featured facts about it: “Local golfing ‘talent’ Dave Kershaw shot 46 over at Les Ormes on the 21st July after predicting an ‘Under 20 over’ round. Fans and onlookers could only describe his golf as ‘Horror.'” I thoroughly enjoy both golf and air quotes, but that fact is so tedious I can’t find it anywhere other than Wikipedia (which means I hope it’s completely fabricated by a frenemy of Dave Kershaw).
Anyway, there are apparently some mathematical reasons 46 is pretty cool, but I’m not a fan of math; numbers just slide right off my brain (hence why I keep having to subtract in my head to reassure myself that I am indeed 46 years old today). So, instead, here are some animals I saw at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs last week:

I don’t mean to bother you, but . . . could you call someone? That giraffe over there is broken.

I love when zoos just let the peacocks run around, like, “We do not care if you escape, you gaudy jerks.” 
For no reason whatsoever, this creature makes me think of The Road Warrior. 
In case you weren’t aware, Colorado is rather pretty.
