“Look at all these posers,” muttered a goth girl as she watched her classmates pledge for Phi Beta Alpha. “They all wanna be like Jessica Wakefield, copying her beach blonde hair, perfect size six figure, and sun-kissed bronze skin.”
Sweet Valley was a difficult place to live for those who didn’t subscribe to the All-American beliefs that uphold society. There weren’t many places to hang out besides The Nonconformist Store, Kelly’s, or on the wrong side of the train tracks. High school was even harder thanks to most of the school looking like Brooke Shields or Rob Lowe while having the personality of a rabid raccoon. Students like Gothy Space Princess just didn’t fit in. Doomed to fade into the pastel-colored background no matter how horribly it clashed with their outfit.
“Look at the lonely, lumpy loser,” mocked Suzanne Devlin, flicking her dark brown hair over her shoulder. Behind her with matching malicious smirks were Lila Fowler and Jessica Wakefield.
“Aww, did you lose your boyfriend again?” Jessica asked with fake sincerity. GSP felt tears well up in her eyes, the whole school knew about her breakup and never missed a moment to ridicule her. It was especially ironic that Jessica was asking considering she was the reason for the breakup in the first place.
GSP sighed as the Mean Trio moved along to their next target. Maybe she could run away and live in the woods. She had a good supply of fruit pies and beans. It couldn’t be that hard, right?
Lindsay has died. She was Annie Whitman – You are super sweet but don’t have the social caliber that’s needed for Jessica’s approval. To Jessica, you’re just Easy Annie and there’s no way she’ll ever let you on the cheer squad. Jessica’s relentless bullying leads you to self harm 😉 Victimized Town.
