Welcome to the challenge of August, which is going to be all about Time; mostly fiction dealing with Time Travel, but also other topics to do with Time, and the manipulation thereof.
Sometimes time travel is not about going back or forth, but about doing something over and over ’cause you’re in a time loop. Once defined primarily through the movie Groundhog Day this has become somewhat of its own little subgenre of Sci-Fi, with movies like Palm Springs and Happy Death Day, videogames like Deathloop, and so on.
And so todays prompt is about Time Loop Stories- what are your favorites? When has it best been leveraged for comedy, horror, etc?
NOTE: WE’RE NOT TALKING “CLOSED CAUSAL LOOPS” HERE
Bonus Prompt: What are the worst examples of this trope, or cases where the loop went on too long/not long enough?
Extra Bonus Prompt: What IP/ existing story would be fun to mash up with the Time Loop premise?
Paradox Bonus Prompt: If you had to relive a day endlessly what day would you choose?
