Welcome to the 30 Day Challenge for July, where we’ll be looking at the STEM fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. I originally conceived of the as the Science & Math Challenge so those two categories will get more attention, but we will touch on all of them.

Today we want to know about the scientist(s) from the fields of biology and medicine that you most admire. Who are they and which of their discoveries or accomplishments do you admire them for?

As with books, we are breaking the “Most Admired Scientist” prompt up into broad categories to spread the love a little bit. Today is biology and medicine, tomorrow will be physical sciences and math, and Saturday will be social science.
