Still shaken by the loss of Yoshi, the competitors moved on to the next race, this one taking place at the ever-exciting Electrodrome. Against the backdrop of flashing lights, enormous screens, and blasting speakers, the intrepid racers practically flew along the track. Unbeknownst to them, however, they were just about to lose two more of their compatriots.

One such driver was an amorphous blob of water. Actually, multiple amorphous blobs of water.

“Sure is a fine day for a race, isn’t it, Randall?” one of the blobs asked as he wildly veered around a turn.

“Most definitely, Randall,” another replied. “This place is like nothing on the Train. Do you think anyone here would be willing to buy a donut holer?”

“I like your spirit, Randall,” said a third blob as they jumped off a ramp and temporarily entered zero-G. “That’s why you’re our sales leader!”

As the Randalls briefly hung in the air, a mysterious car suddenly shot up behind them, colliding with them and sending them tumbling straight through one of the gigantic TV screens lining the course. The enigmatic driver continued onward as if nothing had happened.

On the other side of the shattered screen, the watery blobs reconstituted themselves one by one. “Oh, dear,” one of them said. “I heard that the Cat had persuaded a lot of people to put money on us. Randall, you know how to get things done. Why don’t you tell her?”

Side Character has died. He was Luigi and a Racer (Town). Each Night he could choose to use his Poltergust 5000 to trap (jail) another player. That player would not be able to use an ability or be targeted by an ability that night. He also shared a chat with another player.

Another driver shot past the wreckage of the screen, shaking its massive spherical body.

IF ONLY THEY HAD BEEN A MOON, the Moon said, THEY COULD HAVE USED THEIR GRAVITY TO CRUSH THEIR FOE BEFORE IT COULD SNEAK UP ON THEM. NO SELF-RESPECTING MOON WOULD HAVE ALLOWED THAT TO HAPPEN TO THEM.

It was at that moment that the Moon noticed a small, green clad figure standing off to the side of the track. Over the din of the enormous speakers, the Moon caught the faint sound of an ocarina song, a song it knew quite well…

NO! the Moon exclaimed. I HAVE BEEN A GOOD MOON. I HAVEN’T HURT ANYONE. YOU CAN’T DO THIS TO ME!

With a roar and an unearthly grimace on its terrifying face, the Moon veered off the track straight toward the green boy. It was only yards away when the boy finished his song, prompting four giants to leap out of the ground and, in one smooth movement, toss the Moon right back into the sky.

NOT AGAIN, the Moon sighed as the planet grew smaller beneath it. WHAT A PAIN.

beinggreen has died. She was Birdo (aka Catherine in Japan) and was a Racer (Town). Birdo was a one-shot vigilante that could target and kill a player on one of either of the first two Nights.

Somewhere nearby, two shadowy figures – one of them vaguely cow-shaped – kept an eye on everything that transpired.
