Welcome to Mario Kart!

This is it – the Mushroom Kingdom’s biggest race. Everything is on the line. All of the competitors are ready to go, their rides all fueled up and all of their tricks firmly planted up their sleeves. But what’s this? Rumors claim that some of the racers are not actually here to compete, but rather to sabotage the event for unspecified gain! Can these saboteurs be rooted out before they ruin everything?

This game was designed as a blind, ranked-choice draft. Read the drafting procedures below carefully. The goal is to have 16+ players, but that number is flexible.

Factions (the numbers are subject to change)

The Racers (Town) – 12(?) players

  • Win condition: All Scum (Saboteurs + Serial Killer(s) if applicable) are eliminated.

The Saboteurs (Wolves) – 4(?) players

  • Win condition: The number of surviving non-Saboteurs is less than or equal to the number of surviving Saboteurs

Other Factions

  • Serial Killer(s) and Independent(s) are possible.

Drafting Process

  1. The list of roles to choose from are included below. Note that only the role names are provided – role descriptions will only be provided publicly after that player’s death.
  2. Each player will send the mods a ranked list of at least their top five preferred role names through Discord. This can be done as soon as the private chats with the mods are set up.
  3. After all lists are received, the mods will look at all of the first choice roles. Any player who chose a unique role (a role not selected by anyone else) as their first choice will be assigned that role.
  4. If any players selected the same role as their first choice, that role will be assigned to one of those players at random.
  5. If there are any players who have not received a role after the first round, the mods will turn to those players’ second choice roles. This process will repeat until the lists have been exhausted.
  6. If there are still any players who have not received a role after all of the lists have been taken into account, they will be assigned one of the remaining unclaimed roles at random. Everyone gets a role!
  7. Faction alignments will be decided after all roles have been assigned.
