Hello everyone! I delayed posting this round a couple of days because well, this round is going to be up for a while. I’m going on a trip starting tomorrow and won’t be home or on computer for about a week. So this round will be active until Sunday, 4/14, at 8PM Eastern time.
Without further ado, let’s go over the results of Round 4!
There were a couple upset wins this time around, including #46 Dick Dale’s “Misirlou” overcoming #14, Marvin Gaye’s cover of “A Change is Gonna Come.” I suppose after 66th seed “Try a Little Tenderness” (Otis Redding) managed to knock off the second seeded Fugees “Killing Me Softly with His Song” it shouldn’t be that much of a shock that it could defeat #34 “Me and Bobby McGee” by Janis Joplin. Otis won 47-21.
The largest margin was the defeat of Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix! “All Along the Watchtower” won 62-10. The slimmest margin of victory was the 6-vote win of Richie Valens’ “La Bamba” over Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” 39-33.
Have fun with this round! God knows you’ll have plenty of time with it.
