Earlier this week in the Chicagofood subreddit there was a post about a dustup between a pasta restaurant and “food influencers”. I don’t knowingly follow any influencers on instagram but I do like to look at plates of food. The whole idea of an influencer just seems silly to me but I’m old so what do I know? I get that it’s a way to learn about new places but looks more to me like someone trying to cultivate and sell their “brand”. The majority of the users on the Reddit thread take the side of the restaurant and I tend to agree with them.

Do any of you follow influencers? This being the Avocado I doubt that there are any influencers here but if so what are your experiences doing that?
