Angela Bassett was born on August 16, 1958 in New York City.  Some of her notable film credits include Malcolm X, Akeelah and the Bee, the Black Panther series, and What’s Love Got to Do with It, which earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Tina Turner.  Her recurring TV roles include appearances on ER, BoJack Horseman, 9-1-1, and five seasons of American Horror Story.
