It looks like not all space cowboys are created equal. Usagi and Spike pass on to the finals. We’ll skip the Remember the Fallen this time because Vash and Utena will compete for third.

In this corner, we have Spike Spiegel

Bounty hunter extraordinaire*, a man whose eye is always looking at the past. He endeared himself to viewers in the critically acclaimed Cowboy Bebop. From his chill attitude, to his smooth moves in fights, to his tragic love story, he’s become one of the most recognizable characters in all of anime.

And in this corner, we have Usagi Tsukino

Lover of meatballs, men, and justice, she is the one name Sailor Moon. She endeared herself to viewers with her relatable attitude, radical moon powers, and awesome cat in Sailor Moon. From her goofy gags, to her iconic transformations, to her wonderful love story, she’s become a true icon of anime and the magical girl genre.

Who will win this battle of icons? You decide!

Stray observations:

• All of our final four were seeded quite high, but there have been a couple upsets which means the original top four are not our final four. RIP Ed and Retsuko.
• We had a couple of cool final fight options from those four, but these two were definitely the favorites from the beginning.
• This tournament has been a lot of fun to run. I’ll be doing Anime Antagonist and Anime Supporting Character some point soon. I’ll put a vote down for which one comes next.
