Jeopardy! recap for Fri., Mar. 15

Jeopardy! recap for Fri., Mar. 15 – Today’s contestants are:

– Bianca, a history professor from Maryland, has the Jeopardy! logo above her daughter’s crib;
– Brad, a health and safety professional from New Jersey, posed “tastefully nude”; and
– Lindsey, a physician from Pennsylvania, was Patient no. 3 in a reading of “Wit” with Kathleen Chalfant. Lindsey is a one-day champ with winnings of $35,201.

Lindsey was once again very impressive in DJ, opening up a runaway lead on DD2 which she was able to maintain into FJ with $23,700 vs. $8,800 for Brad and $8,000 for Bianca.

DD1, $800 – 3-LETTER SCIENCE – The Latin word for this element is stannum (Lindsey won $1,100)

DD2, $2,000 – NOTABLE BOOKS OF 2018 – “Boom Town: The Fantastical Saga of” this Midwest capital city includes “its chaotic founding” on April 22, 1889 and much more (Linsdey won $4,000)

DD3, $2,000 – IRISH-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME – The 2011 inaugural class included Maureen O’Hara & this 4-time Pulitzer-winning 20th century playwright (Bianca won $2,000 – she had $6,000 to wager vs. $22,900 for Lindsey with only two small-value clues remaining, so this was a very obvious all-in situation. Instead, Bianca’s $2,000 bet guaranteed her defeat.)

FJ – 19TH CENTURY NAMES – In 1854 he became official musical instrument maker to emperor Napoleon III; and instrument he invented was named for him

Only Brad was correct on FJ, with Lindsey dropping $3,700 to win with $20,000 for a two-day total of $55,201.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew that to change my mind, someone will have to rotate my ulna, or “twist my arm”.

That’s before and after my time: In Pop Culture Double Talk, the contestants were too mature to know DJ Snake’s 2018 worldwide hit “Taki Taki”, and too young to remember the Broadway show featuring “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “Promises Promises”.

This day in Trebekistan: Alex proclaimed Jeopardy! as the place to “be all you can be”, and will be watching golf this weekend like “most of America”.

Correct Qs:
DD1 – What is tin?
DD2 – What is Oklahoma City?
DD3 – Who was Eugene O’Neill?
FJ – Who was Sax?
