Hey, all; Happy Last Friday of 2019 –
Hope everyone had a great holiday got both everything they want and everything they deserve. But now, as the year draws to a close, it falls to us; the great collective workforce, to stagger breathless and broken to that finish line. As was the case last year, I’ve had to put in a few extra hours on the back end of the things to make sure I can greet the new decade with a clear head and conscience, and will likely need to put in still a few more before the ball drops.
It’s unfair, it’s frustrating, and, in an unsettling number of places, it’s inevitable; The Crunch is upon us, yet again. I know how I’m handling it, (namely, burning through the year’s remaining vacation; go seniority!) howzitabout you? You working up a strong head of steam headed in to the double 2-0, or, are you one of the lucky ones who already have their cup of kindness filled and letting auld acquaintances be forgot? Either way, you can talk about it, here; along with any other end-of-year stresses that might be wearing on you.
As ever, have a productive rest of the day, safe trip home, great weekend, and, in case we don’t talk, a damn happy New Year. We’re heading into the uncharted territory of a new decade and, however it all ends up shaking out, I wish you all nothing but the best in all your endeavors; employment or otherwise. May the coming years bring us more good than bad, and may our strange and glorious little community thrive and grow that we might be able to deliver the same message for 2030.
Now get back to work.
