30 Day Fictional Settings Challenge, Day 22: Animation

There’s certainly some creative crossover between animated film and other mediums such as comics and video games: portrayal of environments via artwork rather than photography. Animation, like games in particular, spans a vast continuum of quality, from relatively cheap cartoons designed for Saturday morning TV, to immaculately-drawn feature films. What is your favorite example of a place created onscreen in an animated movie or show?

***For our purposes today, both traditional (hand-drawn) and CG animation are included***

Bonus: What existing place from another medium of storytelling (including live action) would you like to see in animated form?

Not Really Setting-Related Question: Which director, who has not worked in this genre, would you like to see tackle an animated feature? What about their style or sensibility leads you to choose them?
